InfoAccess - Configuring an ODBC Connection

This document provides instructions for setting up an ODBC connection to the InfoAccess database. The ODBC connection is the same for Hyperion and MS Access.

Open the Data Sources Program

Navigate to the Data Sources program, Start > Programs > Administrative Tools > Data Sources. If the Administrative Tools folder is not in your Programs folder, try Start > Programs > Settings > Control Panel. Double click on the Administrative Tools folder. Then double click the Data Sources (ODBC) icon. The location or name may vary depending on your Windows operating system.

  1. Select the System DSN tab.

  2. Click on the Add button and select the Oracle ODBC Driver from the following screen. Make sure the driver specifies version 8 or higher. This is the recommended driver for Bio and can be used for MS Access.

OR Another option is the Microsoft ODBC for Oracle driver. The Oracle 10 or Oracle 11 driver is recommended but the Microsoft ODBC driver may also be used.
