My WebSpace (Mac) - Downloading Goliath and Configuring WebDAV for OS 10.3 and Earlier


This document gives instructions on how to set-up WebDAV on a Macintosh with My WebSpace using Mac OS 10.3 and previous versions.

Obtaining Software

To connect to the My WebSpace server from your Macintosh, you must first download and install the Goliath client software, which provides WebDAV support for both OS X and MacOS Classic environments (8.x - 9.x). You can download Goliath from the DoIT Apple Support Site.

Opening up a Connection to My WebSpace:

  1. To open a new connection, launch Goliath.
  2. Click on file and then on New Connection.

  4. Please enter https://mywebspace.wisc.edu/NetID, replacing NetID with your University of Wisconsin - Madison NetID. The My WebSpace server also requires a user name and password; please enter your NetID and password in the appropriate fields.
  5. To open a session that points to another user's directory where you have been given the appropriate access, simply add a directory with the name https://mywebspace.wisc.edu/NetID/directoryname replacing NetID with the other user's NetID and directoryname with the name of the shared directory.
  6. Once connected, you will see a window that provides access to your files on the My WebSpace server.
