My WebSpace - Basic File Management

This document explains the basic file management features of My WebSpace.

The Navigation Toolbar: Directory Management
The first set of functionality on the toolbar is Directory Management.

Refresh
Refresh
You should use the Refresh button to refresh your directory listing instead of the browser's refresh button because the Directory Manager refreshes the current directory listing. If you have navigated to a sub-directory anywhere in your home directory tree or are in another user's directory or in Group Directories, the browser refresh will automatically take you back to your home directory. Therefore, to maintain the current directory listing, use the refresh button in the Directory Manager's navigation toolbar.
Upload
Upload
Uploads one or more files. Your choices are 1-10, 15, or 20 files and you may select to overwrite the files. Upload allows you to browse to the files you wish to upload from your local file system in order to add them to your account. If you do not select overwrite and one of the files already exists, the upload will fail for all of the items you are trying to upload. To easily upload folders and multiple files, please see My WebSpace - Uploading Multiple Files and Folders.
New Folder
New Directory
Allows you to add a new subdirectory. You can create a subdirectory in any directory that you have read and write access to. You can use subdirectories to better organize your files.
